holocaust education week

The Holocaust and NOW

Holocaust Education Week is the Neuberger’s annual signature program and has been cited by scholars as one of the most comprehensive vehicles for Holocaust education and remembrance in the world. In fact, it has been recognized as a “Best Practice” in the field.

In 2018 we were hired to rebrand the HEW brand identity. In 2019 we continued our engagement and challenged to refine the theme and approach the creative as we would a marketing campaign.

When reviewing the content and speaker line-up that was being planned for the event, the Holocaust and Now, appeared to have been “torn from the headlines.” With so much social, cultural and political turmoil occurring globally, we found ourselves discussing the relationship between the Holocaust and what is happening around us today. Based in today’s political climate, we were inspired by the relationship that exists between design and activism. We used these visual cues to develop a design system that would stand out and encourage new audiences to engage with the narratives of the Holocaust.

This bold design system extended to the program guide, events listing, event banners, newspaper advertising, out-of-home, lawn signs and wild postings, and adopted by their in-house team to re-skin the website and presentation templates.
